From this experience I learned much about the business world and how to treat customers and handle situations with the greatest amount of patience and consideration. I worked as an Artist and Gallery Sitter at Ada Gallery in Richmond Virginia and handled work that ranged from greeting gallery visitors to helping move art and set up for shows. It was a greatly important experience for me the environment was supportive and creative keeping everyone involved in high spirits. I learned how to network and communicate with others and get their feed back on art and other things going on in the world. I also learned a lot about the importance of teamwork and building a family within a business setting. I also learned how to keep a place neat and orderly while a heavy amount of traffic flows through.

I have great people skills and am a natural leader due to the fact that I am the eldest of five children and 12 cousins. I am tech savvy and have been an avid blogger since my early teens. I have a desire to learn from others when ever possible. I am somewhat of a information junkie. This means that I spend much of my time reading books watching films and doing web-based research on art, Japanese culture and language, skateboarding, international issues and technology. I have been an avid blogger since about 2006 when I discovered it in high school.
• Technical Ability
I have basic Windows and Macintosh skills and have the ability to catch on to most programs and systems fairly quickly. I have skills in the Microsoft Office Suite as well as the Adobe Creative Suites. I also have basic skills with Digital SLR cameras and other devices such as phones and mp3 players. I also possess basic skills using Blue-tooth technology and other forms of information transfer.
• Investment
I feel that when a company choices to hire someone they are making a personal investment towards their growth and development as well as providing opportunities to up and coming leaders. With this in mind I feel that I will be a contributing member towards this company and at the same time preparing to become a leader of future generations through my experiences.

Opening Statement:

This is a piece I discovered a Japanese historical website that embodies some of the thoughts and reasoning behind the work and expression of great art. In this instance we are referring to the art of Yasumasa Yonehara.
One of the questions some people have is “Why did the Japanese
people go along so readily with their government on its militaristic
course?” One reason is that the Japanese were conditioned for over a
thousand years to obey whoever was in command. The feudal system that
was established with its samurai setup, a system of forced obedience;
you didn't obey, you died. “You criticized, you died. You didn't bow at
the right time, you died.”
Key IDEA- "Weapons of Mass Instruction!"
Yonehara is a Result of this Conditioning and represents the Back Lash!
Yonehara Yasumasa

Yonehara is both a photographer and editor. He represents the voice of generation obsessed with young women, sneakers, skateboarding, sex, hip-hop, punk rock and sub-culture worldwide. Yonehara is a significant figure in world culture and contemporary photography. This idea is that you don't necessarily have to create the greatest aesthetically pleasing piece but you have to capture a moment of emotion and sincerity. Although many through its visual representation of young scantily clad women lose this idea, a deeper message is hidden that enforces the laws of both nature and art. This is through his great success and widespread appeal within the younger generations of suppressed artistic and sensual expression. The artists and young people are tired of current media and publishing companies, which are constantly “watering down” the expressions of the people. We must understand that through a great suppression of emotion leads to its great expression and explosion! This has been proven both in society and nature. If there is a torrential downpours and the river gains more water than it can handle the river will soon overflow, and the damn will be destroyed. People behave in the same manner.
Japan has had a very long history of deep censorship and suppression of ideas. What we must really ask ourselves who if anyone is being hurt? In our society we have enjoyed the liberty of freedom greater than any other nation on the planet. Our freedom has allowed us to grow and become the most powerful nation that has ever existed. In the process of trying to find the best ways we test everything we know and get closer and closer towards freedom. In the process many people are hurt and the fight to lessen the pain brings about new discoveries in every field. For all great art and progress a price must be paid. Nothing comes from nowhere! Matter cannot be created or destroyed. The aspect that makes the American people able to grow as a nation is the speedy process we have accepted and applied to the passing of laws. The most effective fields of business are the ones that are able to adapt to changes and the others often fall. We must all keep in mind the idea Voltaire was once quoted with “Monsieur l’abbe, I detest what you write, but I would give my life to make it possible for you to continue to write!” We don't have to all agree with each other but if we stand together and focus on a single goal of positivity and progress of human rights without hurting others we can truly grow as artist, thinkers and global society. In closing I would like to once again quote Valtaire with saying a very relevant quote in regard towards this subject “Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd”! Are we certain we can define art by only our feelings and options’, or do the facts consistently prove us wrong? Like nature we must grow and adapt and leave space open for growth!

Science enforces nature and serves as a explanation of things in our natural world. Many seem to view religion and sciences as two forces that are in an infinite clash. We view education as linear learning and absorbing of information based on a given curriculum set in stone that cannot be changed. When you ask many why this cannot be changed they respond in a format such as this “you must walk before you can run”. This statement may or may not be translated verbatim but the essential idea exists. But in many instances this does not apply the artist many of us worship we betray. As a great enlightenment writer once stated “A witty saying proves nothing-Voltaire”. There must be a great focus on examining art and trusting our senses with the enforcement of facts science, experiments and emotions. These concepts are they key towards all major breakthroughs. Many people say everything has already been done. New ideas do not exist. Even if one believes this how often to they question what has not be done? We all exist now and no two humans are exactly alike. I feel that one healthy way at looking at education based on the facts of both financial and historical impact that Mr. Henry Ford and John Wanamaker demonstrated through their life accomplishments.

The following quote is taken from the literary work of Napoleon Hill and goes as follows:

Schooling is a tool meant to inspire and educate but in order to do this we must take a great step back and focus on what curriculum we are absorbing. What is the significance of our grades what truly determines leadership? What determines a “good” student vs. a “bad” student? How can we more effectively develop education? How can we inspire students to stay in school and become more effective Leaders and FOLLOWERS. We must look at students as vehicles of the future, the way we allow them to learn today will build habits in how they will learn and make choices in the future! If we promote learning the same ways we have, we will create passive followers. This is demonstrated through people’s thoughts and interpretations of every given situation presented in history. Depending on the leader of a given people great peace or great pain can be administered, this is illustrated through the actions of Adolf Hitler. Hitler had a great power over the German people and this is because he understood this concept. All those with power that could possibly inspire passive followers that lacked the initiative to rebel caused for one of the worst genocides in human history. These ideas are important and relate not only to the mentality of art but the mentality and philosophy of art. This is why good people do bad things! They way we view life and situations reflect how we live our life styles. How conscious are we of what we are doing?
Why must we accept everything we are told? True learners and educators always question and reference emotions, reason, logic and the laws of nature. America has been able to progress as a nation because of freedom of speech and the liberation of individual searching. Many of the individuals if not all were of a minority at some point. The transferring of the minority to majority is evident in the way America has been able to grow financially. Many of those who were rich during the great depression lost their money. America was able to survive off the new ideas and approaches to business provided by entrepreneurs that worked on new ideas and concerns based on factors relevant to their lives! Successful artist do the same thing! We are long over due for a CHANGE! Immediately notice what you thought of when you read that. Did you focus on the positive aspects of change, or did you focus on the idea that change is not possible? Possibly neither, I do not feel I know the answers to everything nor do I wish for infinite knowledge. Knowledge doesn't really prove anything. It is a combination of knowledge plus faith multiplied by our experiences and expressing these ideas without causing pain towards others.

*I feel it is healthy to not look at the idea that everything has already been done but the idea that we haven’t existed and by bringing out our personal essence with the intent to bless others is a new way to approach education, art, science, religion and every other field can be expanded. Because we haven’t existed, there is something new! Our dreams and perspectives!

Actual Project:
My conceptual art project is to write two actual proposals for every 20 ideas I actually have and to actually come to my conclusion when it is too late. Then document it after has happened. This project is to be spontaneous and one of desperation. The purpose is to expose myself to how much I actually work ideas and second-guess myself until it is finished.
